In early 2014 the Young Australians for Rhino's was formed with the mission of supporting the Australian Rhino Project to establish a breeding herd of rhinos in Australia. The key responsibilities of this group include: recruitment of members, organising events, acting as a lobby group, fund raising and being an ideas incubator. This is not an exhaustive list and members are encouraged to be involved to any degree that will assist in achieving the mission. To this point, members partake in the Australian Rhino Project Board Meetings which provide a firsthand experience of the detail in this project.
The Young Australians for Rhino's is also a continuity plan. The longer term vision for the Project is to have a stable herd of rhinos located on a large property in outback Australia. Once the situation stabilises in Africa, it is our intention to repatriate rhinos to South Africa. We will be responsible for carry this vision into the future.
